Dušan Rodić (Belgrade) is an artist who takes his cue from nature and the environment. Through the principles of mathematics and geometry, he uses only the most basic materials to construct artworks that say something about the way we live our lives.
As a student of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and as resident of the Rijksacadmie voor beeldende kunsten, also in Amsterdam, Rodić tempts to find harmony, by combining sustainability and technology with art.
Examples of these include Shelter, where the artist constructed a shelter out of simple materials, in which artists and visitors come together to perform rituals and prepare food in a primitive fireplace, pointing at the raw conditions in which communities converge. Other works hit similar themes, like his Green Roof, Alternative Energy Source and Pulse.
