Norbert Bisky (Germany) is a painter. He was born in Leipzig, in the former German Democratic Republic, as the son of a Communist official. His works are greatly influenced by socialist realism, the art style officially adopted by the GDR. Residing in Berlin, his work has been exhibited across the globe. From 2008 to 2010, he was a visiting professor at the Haute École d’Art et de Design, in Geneva, Switzerland.
