Jude Law (1972) is an acclaimed British actor. He came to international attention for his role in Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). Other films include Gattaca (1997), Road to Perdition (2002), Alfie (2004), Closer (2004), The Holiday (2006), Hugo (2011), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). In his career he has received nominations for two Academy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and two British Academy Awards, winning one. In 2007, he received an Honorary César and was named a Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government. He also has an accomplished career on stage: he has performed in several West End and Broaday production. In 2017, Jude Law is to return to the theatre in an adaptation of Luchino Visconti’s Obsession, directed by Ivo van Hove. The production will premiere in april 2017 in London.
