Using a 2500-year-old Greek tragedy by Aeschylus, The Suppliants challenges the audience to think about current dilemmas regarding migration, identity and integration. Featuring a chorus of Kurdish female singers and musicians.
The Suppliants does not only depict the struggle of the refugees to reach safety, but also shows the internal struggle within the city that ultimately receives them, as itscitizens wrestle with their values and how to best address the crisis at their border. Together with Theater of War productions (USA) the Forum on European Culturepresents the poignant European premiere of The Suppliants, working closely together with Kurdish singers, musicians and performers who form the choir.
