Frank Westerman (Netherlands, 1964) is a Dutch writer and former investigative journalist. Working as correspondent for various Dutch newspapers, he lived in Belgrade and Moscow. Westerman was one of the few journalists in Srebrenica during its capture. The book he wrote with colleague Bart Rijs, Srebrenica: The Blackest Scenario, aims to reconstruct the war and massacre of that time. The price winning Engineers of the Soul (2002), an inquiry into the Soviet Union and present-day Russia, describes how authors were forced to write in service of an ideology.
