Ingo Niermann (Germany, 1969) is a German novelist, writer and artist. He grew up in East-Germany, studied philosophy in Berlin and now lives in New York City. Although Nierman is mostly known for his book publications, he has also contributed to several German newspapers, conducted interviews for the German literary magazine Der Freund and Monopol. His books include Minusvisionen (2003), Umbauland (2006) and China ruft Dich (2008), in which he records the stories, experiences and perceptions of German and other non-Chinese expatriates who have decided to pursue life in China after 2000.
