Kader Abdolah

Kader Abdolah (Iran, The Netherlands, 1954) is a Persian-Dutch writer, poet and columnist.  He graduated from the Arak College of Science in Iraq, where he studied physics. He fled to The Netherlands as a political refugee in 1988. In 1993 he published his first novel; De adelaars (The Eagles) and released his best-selling book, Het huis van de moskee (The House of The Mosque) in 2005. Abdolah is one of the most influential and critically acclaimed writers in The Netherlands of his generation.
