Makers Unite is a start-up that facilitates encounters between Amsterdam locals and newcomers such as refugees, migrants and asylum seekers. Together, they design and make sustainable products with a story. This co-making allows people to share their stories and engage in conversations and new contacts. Makers Unite has designed an effective social inclusion programme based on creating sustainable products together. The act of making simple things in a group stimulates the collaborative engagement of participants. It enables dialogues that step by step builds trust.
Makers Unite contributes to Give Us the Museum – June 1st, 19:00 at Stedelijk Museum
