Timothy Snyder

Timothy D. Snyder (US, 1969) is an American author and historian. He is specialised in the Holocaust and Eastern Europe. Snyder received his Phd from the University of Oxford, and is a professor at Yale university. His book Bloodlands: Europe between Hitler and Stalin (2010) has been translated into more than twenty languages, and received the Hannah Arendt Prijs and the Leipziger Boekenprijs. In his most recent controversial book Black Earth (2015) he describes the origins of the Holocaust and draws a parallel between the political condition in Europe then, and now.
