Tom Lanoye (1958, BE) is a Flemish novelist, poet, columnist, scenarist, and playwright. He is one of the most widely read and honoured authors in the Netherlands and Flanders and his work has been translated and performed in more than 15 languages. One of his most recent books, Sprakeloos [Speechless], was awarded and nominated with many prizes. He wrote more than a dozen theatre plays such as Fort Europa [Fort Europe] and De Russen [The Russians] that have been played by famous Dutch and Flemish theatre companies.
