Ulrike Guérot (Germany) is Founder and Director of the European Democracy Lab at the European School of Governance in Berlin. She writes about the democracy of Europe and its global position, publishing works like the recent ‘Why Europe Needs to Become a Republic. A Political Utopia’. In her twenty years of experience in European think tanks, she has now become Professor and Director of the Department for European Policy and the study of Democracy at the Donau-University in Krems, Austria.
