Zaki Nusseibeh (Jerusalem, 1964) became the translator and interpreter for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates, in the 1970s. Nusseibeh quickly became a trusted advisor to the rulers of Abu Dhabi, and has since been at the centre of political and cultural life in the country’s largest emirate. He founded two classical music festivals, serves as the vice-chairman of its cultural authority, and sits on the board of the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. He has been recently appointed as a Minister of State.
