As part of Leeuwarden- Fryslân as European Capital of Culture 2018, eleven fountains are to be built in eleven Frisian cities. Public art, however, never fails to divide. The witty documentary 11 Fountains exposes the clash between pan-European ambitions, internationally acclaimed artists and the interests of local Frisian citizens. Frisian-born comedian Jan Jaap van der Wal enhances the film with his sharp commentary.
After the film there will be a panel discussion with film director Roel van Dalen and curator Anna Tilroe.
The European Cultural Foundation strenghtens the European sentiment by developing and supporting cultural initiatives that let us share, experience and imagine Europe.
